Louis Kossuths sent a message / Kossuth Lajos azt üzente

Louis Kossuth’s sent a message
That he has run out of  the regiment
Should he send another message
Every one of us will have to go then
Hurrah to the Hungarian freedom, hurrah to the home

Rain is falling, onto the circle
Onto the hat of Louis Kossuth
Every one drop falls onto it,
So much blessing should fly onto him
Hurrah to the Hungarian freedom, hurrah to the home

The copper cannon of Aron Gabor / Gábor Áron rézágyúja

The copper cannon of  Aron Gabor has been decked with flowers
The lads are already departing far away to the battle
The copper cannon is heavy, it plows up the hill and the valley
Dear my rose for my mother-country I have to sunder from you

Wind of the spring flushes the water / Tavaszi szél vizet áraszt

Wind of the spring flushes the water,
My flower, my flower
Every bird chooses a partner
My flower, my flower

Now this time whom should I choose,
My flower, my flower
I choose you and you choose me
My flower, my flower

When the wind blows from the Danube / Ha Dunáról fúj a szél

When the wind blows from the Danube / Ha Dunáról fúj a szél

When the wind blows from the Danube
It always reaches the poor man,
Wind blows from the Danube

Didn’t blow it from the Danube,
Wouldn’t be so cold here,
Wind blows from the Danube

Hey Johny, Johny,
Why didn’t you grow up bigger
Wind blows from the Danube

Have you grown up bigger
You could have been soldier
Wind blows from the Danube

Under the csitári mountains / A Csitári hegyek alatt

Under the Csitári mountains the snow has fallen long ago.
I have heard my little angel that horse has fallen with you.
You have broken out your arm, what do you embrace me with?
So that my dear little angel I just cannot become yours.

Down there there is a forest, oh, how very far it is.
In its middle, in its middle, there are two rosemary bushes.
One is bending to my shoulder, the other bends to my baby's,
So that my dear little angel I can be yours sometime.

Vuk

Swift fox legs
Sneaky little shades
Hip-hop, comes Vuk
Famous big hunters
You'd better stand off
Hip-hop, comes Vuk

He's never afraid of the night
Though the dense forest is full of hazard
They say about him, he's foxy as the fox
Comes, sees, wins, runs,
Even the sky lights up,
Even I shout out,
Hip-hop, comes Vuk!
Hip-hop, comes Vuk!

I would pass through / Által mennék...

I would pass through
the Tisza by boat, through the Tisza by a boat
There resides my, there resides my pigeon
There she resides in the city
On the third avenue
Red rose, blue mouse-ear and violet
Are blossoming in her window

I would pass through the Tisza
I don't dare, I don't dare but I don't dare
I am affraid that I fall in the river
That I fall in the river
On the back of my horse shayeah-hy
The saddle might turn aside
Among the surfs of Tisza I vanish,
I won't be my baby's.
